YUKTAH YOGA

Yoga

We are living in a culture that is obsessed with the body and paradoxically sadly out of touch with it. YUKTAH YOGA taps into our lust for physical perfection, but at the same time, it gives us a feeling of connection and peace that our bodies truly yearn for.

Join our Yoga classes and practice in a healthy and safe environment. Classes will be led by Yuktah Yoga teacher BABA who is registered with the International Yoga Federation and the European Yoga Alliance at the 200 hr and the 500 hr levels.

Classes will focus on energy stablizing “Asana” sequences that will help you maintain flexibility as well as stability.

Teacher's Bio

Sunil Mansukhani (Baba), Professor of the European Yoga Alliance and the International Yoga Federation, born in Africa and of Indian origin, had the first Vedanta experience at the age of 11 from the hands of Pandit TD Pant and his Son Professor Harish Chandra Pant, both teachers of Sanskrit and Vedanta.

He had his first yoga experience with Sri A. Mohinanani, his maternal grandfather. This experience in the Iyengar system served him to deepen his practice further when he lived for several years in Pune.

Soon his path will take him to the feet of Sri Bhagwan Rajneesh "Osho" with whom he had the opportunity to practise tantra and yoga.

For several years he lived in the deserts of Rajasthan. This gave him the opportunity to discover the vital airs that flow in the body.

In Pune, he went to "The Lonavala Institute" to study Prayanama techniques under O.P. Tiwariji. He also studied and practised the secret and sacred Pranayama Chakra Shastra.

During the following years he coordinated and combined several styles of yoga: Iyengar, Ashtanga and many more to finally create a method called Yuktah Yoga.

He worked and studied at the Baidyanath Ayurvedic Institute in Naini where his mentors were Dr Newton and Dr Tripathi. With them he had the opportunity to study Ayurveda and work in the ayurvedic hospital. This experience adds a new dimension to the style of yoga that he tries to transmit to his best teachers, the students themselves.

Baba does not hesitate to incorporate in his teachings Bharat Natyam, Tantra, Ayurveda, martial arts, Buto dance and various styles of yoga combined with breathing techniques.

Baba continues in his search for the teachings of Sri Adinatha (Shiva), the first yogi at whose feet he always hopes to remain.

He dedicates the Yuktah Yoga system to the foremost and most important of all his teachers, his students from whom he will always continue to learn.

Meaning of Yuktah

Yuktah : the disciplined individual

A person is disciplined when he fulfils his duties without thinking about the fruits of his actions but becoming so enlightened that happiness comes his way effortlessly. Such a person is situated in transcendence and is self-controlled. He sees everything — whether be it pebbles, stones or gold — as the same.

Ayurvedic consultation

What is Ayurveda?

It is one of the world's oldest holistic (“whole-body”) healing systems. It was developed more than 3,000 years ago in India. It's based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit.

Baba is a qualified Ayurvedic Consultant who can help you find this inner balance.

This kind of consultation addresses a person’s health concerns from a physical, emotional and spiritual perspective. Integrating the theoretical frameworks of Ayurveda and modern science, these sessions focus as much on the person who is facing a health challenge as the health challenge being faced.

During a typical evaluation, Baba will take a complete medical and lifestyle history and will perform a physical evaluation that looks at the body both as a physical system as well as a field of intelligence, reflecting the needs and choices of a person’s life. Based upon this assessment, a personalized body/mind/spirit health-enhancing prescription will be formulated, including recommendations on diet, stress management, exercise, emotional healing, nutritional supplements, and sensory modulation.
